I took this image of Stage Harbor Lighthouse in Chatham, MA from across the Monomoy River on Sears Point. Stage Harbor Light is Cape Cod's youngest lighthouse having been built in 1880. The light was decommissioned in 1933 because large ships were being diverted through the Cape Cod Canal. The light was removed by the federal government and the tower capped. The lighthouse is privately owned but a path from Harding's Beach takes you to within 50 yards. The path is a gorgeous walk all year around.
