Highly endangered North Atlantic Right Whales migrate to Cape Cod Bay early in the year. In February I hike out to Race Point Lighthouse in Provincetown, MA to watch them feed near the shore. Right whales have two blow holes so their blows form a "V" when they spout. When you're this close to the right whales their spouting is ear piercing. Right whales got their name because they were the right ones for early whalers to kill for their blubber and oil. Yes, I took this image from shore.
